Course objectives

Learn to practice mindful compassion meditations.

  • Understand the theory, science and practice of mindfulness.
  • Develop the skills to develop a mindfulness practice at home and at work.

Please note This is a 2-day weekend residential course running over 3 days (except for the course in Northern Ireland which occurs during the week and the residential stay is optional)

Intended audience

Any Macmillan professional wishing to develop their skills to better support themselves and others.


David Oldham is an experienced counsellor has his own private practice and works at Blythe House hospice as a Macmillan counsellor. David is also a meditation teacher who has trained in a variety of approaches, with a number of different teachers. In this capacity, he has experience of teaching both in the UK and abroad, specialising in mindful compassion for both patients and healthcare professionals.
