From practicing mindfulness to developing strategies that combat stress and support wellbeing, these courses will enable you to look after yourself and others.

Please Note: Please ensure you have the required equipment to take part. We advise that participants join the session 10-15 minutes before the start time, to ensure connection to the meeting and familiarisation with the platform before the session starts.

This subject will be supported with pre-reading which you will be sent when your place is confirmed, a 1 hour virtual webinar on the dates below and a ½ day (4 hour) virtual classroom workshop.

Aims:

To increase awareness of Vicarious Traumatisation and support effective self-care in Helpers

Objectives:

  • Clarify what vicarious traumatisation is and distinguish it from burnout
  • Highlight risk factors and be able to recognise vicarious traumatisation
  • Help Helpers recognise obstacles to self-care
  • Share evidence-based resilience building and self-care strategies
  • Provide a practical framework for improving self-care
  • Please ensure you complete the pre-work in good time before the sessions as you may not be able to attend the virtual workshop without completing. You will need to complete the pre-reading sent; the 1hr webinar is optional though we recommend you take advantage of the offer. You can choose any virtual classroom date but it must follow the pre-work.
