Trusts pair up to improve cancer care

NHS Improving Quality launched a scheme to improve cancer care. The scheme involves trusts with low performance of cancer care to pair up with high performers, in order to improve cancer care quality.

Trusts will develop improvement plans, which will be implemented between February and July. At the end of the programme, NHS Improving Quality will evaluate the scheme and produce a report on the outcomes.

"It is important that where we know we can improve NHS services, we do everything we can to help organisations to make that happen in a supportive, not punitive way", says Jane Whitman, head of NHS Improving Quality's experience of care programme.
