New dates for Building Research Partnerships

Written on the

Building Research Partnerships is set to have its best year to date.

The course is for people interested in getting involved in research and researchers interested in involving patients and carers in their research. It is relevant to all kinds of health and social research, including cancer. After the publication of a report showing the impact of the course and Building Research Partnerships being included in an international list of suggested educational resources by EUPATI we have continued to develop successful partnerships.

We have now trained local facilitators with the Public Health Agency in Northern Ireland, NISCHR in Wales, Cumbria and Lancashire Comprehensive Local Research Network and are continuing to work closely with the NIHR in England.

We are currently training over 10 new facilitators and counting to run the free courses across the UK.

We still have some places on the following courses:

Postponed - Wales - 6th February - more information or contact - involving.people@wales.nhs.uk

Bristol - 11th February - register here or contact - research.learning@macmillan.org.uk

Preston - 27th February - contact research.learning@macmillan.org.uk

London - March 14th - more information or contact research.learning@macmillan.org.uk

Cardiff - March 27th - contact [research.learning@macmillan.org.uk]

Please note that Macmillan is able to offer to pay travel expenses for people affected by cancer (including carers).

The London event is being hosted and entirely funded by the NIHR Royal Brompton/Imperial College Respiratory Biomedical Research Unit and will focus part of the day on heart and lung research. This is the first time an organisation has worked with us to use Building Research Partnerships and adapt it to a specific area of research.
