Using the Acorn Approach with hospices and schools to change children and young people's attitudes to death and dying.

Developed at Oakhaven hospice, the Acorn Approach is a way of exploring issues around transition, loss, death and dying. It invites honest and open dialogue to address myths and fears, and increase understanding of palliative care.

Learning outcomes

  • Understand the range of projects that can use the Acorn Approach.
  • Consider how to develop a school project.
  • Understand how to develop and deliver a four week project.
